Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a non-invasive, effective treatment for spider veins and small superficial varicose veins located near the surface of the skin. The procedure involves injections of a sclerosing agent directly into the affected vein, causing it to seal shut and gradually disappear. Blood is rerouted through healthy veins in the area.

Sclerotherapy is performed as an outpatient procedure at the Daniels Vein and Cosmetic Center. The procedure typically takes less than an hour to complete, depending on the number of veins to be addressed. No anesthesia is required. A tiny micro needle is used to administer the sclerosing agent into the affected vein.

After the procedure, patients may be instructed to wear light compression stockings for approximately one week to aid in the healing process and promote healthy blood flow. Most patients that receive sclerotherapy can return to regular activities immediately after treatment. Results may be visible in three to six weeks for smaller veins; larger veins may take longer. Patients generally require 2-4 sclerotherapy sessions, spaced 4-6 weeks apart, to achieve desired results.
